Parent Support

At Meadowlark Academy we value our parents. Nowhere is that more evident then in our one-of-a kind, online Meadowlark Community. This private, secure Community provides for our parents and staff to be connected around the clock. This level of confidence and transparency in our operations mirrors our dedication in partnering with our families from day one through long after graduation.

Meadowlark Academy believes success is magnified through family involvement. We understand the issues that your child must face are not merely theirs alone to work through. This has been a family crisis that’s taken a heavy toll. Therefore, we believe a family’s long term success lies in the education and empowerment of the parents and our Meadowlark Community is key to that end.

Some families are also dealing with added pressures; i.e. a two-household family, the lack of support or even outright criticism at decisions made on their child’s behalf, resentments from siblings, a single parent carrying the burden alone, and so forth. The challenges and pressures are varied, but very real.

Your Meadowlark Community is a safe haven filled other parents who have walked in your shoes and stand ready to offer support, compassion and encouragement. No matter whether you or your child is having a good day or a bad, and no matter where you are in the healing process, you can access your Meadowlark Community from anywhere, any time of the day or night, any day of the week.

Some of the values you’ll gain from your Meadowlark Community:

* Instant solutions and comfort following your child’s placement.

* A lifeline.

* Peer mentoring that provides a healing opportunity to be in service to others

* A Community who will celebrate your joys with you.

Parent Communications Component

The parent communications component of our academies is one of the highlights of our program. Working with professionals in the fields of parenting and troubled youth, our parent communications teams bring a wealth of practical and educational expertise to you, your child, and family.

Your personal family dynamics are understood and utilized so that your experiences during placement are productive, educational and ultimately lead to your families desired outcome. Your parent communicator is your primary resource to your child's progress at the academy as well. Think of your parent communicator as your liason to program staff and administration, educators and primary coaches.

Parent Testimonial About The Seminars

To all the parents wondering if the parent seminars are something you should attend? For me it has been some of the greatest experiences possible! I was able to sit and listen, participate to trained counselors, share my feelings and viewpoints with staff and other parents. The interaction with other parents made me feel as if I was not the only person going thru these issues in our life and how we all are willing to do whatever it takes to save our children’s lives.

Some of the most enlightening information was that I was just as big a part of these problems and it was not just my daughter misbehaving. The parent seminars will provide you with new tools to use in all of your life issues. Being 50 years old I thought I did not need to change myself until going to the seminars helped me realize I need to change my communication skills and to better understand the viewpoint of the other individual.

I was not employed when I first placed my daughter at Meadowlark and it would have been easy to have them change her. Well let me tell you that is not the answer, after my first seminar I realized I need to participate as much as I possibly could. That in itself helped my daughter realize I will be there no matter what. And that is when the changes in our relationship started to take place.

I still use these tools at work, talking to my wife, family and friends. Everyone has seen a tremendous positive change in me and that was worth it alone, but it really has helped me to set and hold boundaries with my daughter (never could do that before) I was being a codependent father and was creating more problems than solving.

Forgive me for going on about this, but is very important that you attend these seminars as if your child’s life depends on it, because it does.

Respectfully,

Curtis

P. S. Pease feel free to contact me anytime! I am always willing to share my experiences.
